I woke up this morning with a strange feeling. A sadness. A yearning for normality in what seems increasingly surreal.
Yesterday, we were given the news that any non-essential social interaction should be stopped. Obviously, at Hope, this is what we do. We love, care and support each other - both on our journey of faith and our journey of life.
After meeting with one of our small groups this morning (the last for the foreseeable future!) my mood had lifted and I felt so encouraged. In the room, there was so much love, concern for others and support. I realised in that moment that as the Hope Whitby Family we would come through this trial stronger. Even COVID 19 can't stop us from what we do!
We will adapt, change and be more creative for now. We will meet by Zoom or Skype, we will continue to look after those who have needs in our town through our Malachi Storehouse and we will remember that we are a family who are called to do God's work in this town.
So join me daily as we navigate through these uncharted waters. With God in our lives, life is still rocky, but we can cling to something that is safe and secure through any storm. And that, is EXACTLY, what we are going to do.
'God's name is a place of protection - good people can run there and be safe.' Proverbs 18:10
Much love to you all, Bec x
